El primer plat cuinat a Amèrica / My first home-made dish in America

***Mentres llegiu el post, podeu anar escoltant...
***While you read the post, you can listen to...

M'he disposat a preparar el meu primer plat aquí, a terres americanes.

***Once installed (even I need some things yet) and with my kitchen more properly prepared (even a lot of food is needed). I get prepared for cooking my first dish here, in american lands. Quite a mission, if you think I only have two electric heaters and a microwave. The chosen menu has been: PASTA AT GRANDMOTHER PULINA'S STYLE.

*** Primer tallem ben petita mitja ceba i dues peces de bacon fi. Mentres posem aigua a bullir i oli a escalfar amb una dent d'all.

*** First of all we chop half onion into small dices, and two bacon strips into small parts. While we do that, water is being heated until it boils, and oil is being heated with a garlic's part.

*** When water is boiling, we add salt, and when it boils again, we add the pasta, that has to be moved continously during all the boiling process. Into the paella with hot oil, we put the onion, and after 4 mintus the bacon. Add salt and pepper milled.
You can also see a salad being born :)

I després ho remenem bé tot.

*** When the pasta is al dente, we pass it under cold water. When the onion and bacon are well done, we turn off the heat, add the pasta, and a fresh egg over all it. Stirr all. You can also see how the salad overcomes a more evolutionated stage ;)

*** Bona cuina! (Les postres són una mandarineta).
*** Ready to eat! (Dessert is a piece of fruit).

*** Després de dinar, s'obren les finestres i la porta, s'hi passa la cortina, i es fa una bona migdiada. El diumenge perfecte!
*** After that, you open the windows and the door, pass a courtain, and take a good siesta. The perfect sunday!

Your dinner looks delicious! I'm curious to find the differences you see here versus your homeland. Is this your first time here in the States? Lutra, is that a picture of YOU? lol
