Hola de nou, ara des de USA! / Hello again, now from USA!

I aquí torno a ser!

Continuarem informant!

I'm sorry for being out so many days: With my travel, suitcases preparing, jet lag, new job presentation, house finding... I hadn't time for write. But finally I am here again!

I am living and working in the beautiful and multicultural city of Berkeley, California, and this morning I just moved into what is going to be my home for the next 6 months. It is a small wood cabana, 6x3 meters, but it has all: kitchen furnished, king size bed, and bathroom. What else can a man desire?

It is situated inside the garden of a property of a middle age switzerland couple. They are very kind, and we have a very good feling for the other. They have been very kind to me and put things so easiest as they can be. They have another small house in their garden, three times bigger than mine, where another couple is living. He is from NY and her from Transilvanya. They are my age, more or less, and are very kind too.

The neibourghood is just great, all full of parks, trees, grass, plants... people is always doing footing, cycling, dog walking... It really is one of the best zone of Berkeley.

I will have you in touch!

Primeres coses que he notat des que he arribat:

Parcs, boscos impressionants...

First things noticed since I arrived, just some random thinking:

- Buy food is expensive, go lunch or go dinner to a restaurant is cheap.

- All is bigger (roads, food, cars...).

- Most of people eat horrible. They make such an abuse of creams, sauces and sweets... Some mornings I am horrorized seeing what a single person is eating for breakfast. And in restaurants they can not understand that I don't want cream with my salad or meat.

- People is very kind, much much much kind than in my city.

- Re-use culture is hard to see. "Use and throw" things are everywhere.

- There are so many natural spaces... parks, big forest... wonderful.

Lutra, I'm glad you have communication with us again. I've missed hearing from you. Exactly what are you doing here in the states? I lived in California once and really didn't like it. Everyone was in too much of a hurry and it was very crowded. Keep us up to date on what your travels bring you.

Enkeli:

Karen:

I don't know the rest of California, but here, in Berkeley, is rather a quiet place, since it has a lot of just-one-family houses.
There are zones where a lot of people pass every second, of course, but in general terms, you can say it is a very quiet place.
If you want to know what is my work, just take a look on the comment of the new post :)

Mar: Nica (and 6 too!).
